INFORMATION SESSION FOR CARERS
On 16 Decenmber 2011, the Minister for Mental Health Hon Helen Morton MLC launched the draft Mental Health Bill 2011 that is now open for public comment. The consultation period will end on March 2012.
Mental Health Commission will host a number of information sessions on the draft Bill and how it will impact on various stakeholders. The free information session will allow you to ask questions and provide feedback.
The draft Bill, a summary overview and explanatory guide are also available on the Mental Health website, www.mentalhealth.wa.gov.au, to ensure that people understand the proposed changes and are able to make informed comment. The draft Bill, when passed in Parliament in mid 2012, wil replace the current Mental Health Act 1996.
