Description

EMHS is seeking expressions of interest from consumers to join Clinical Incident Review Teams. This is an opportunity for individuals to contribute to improving patient safety and care by bringing the consumer perspective to investigations of serious clinical incidents.

 

About the Role

Consumer representatives will participate in reviews of Severity Assessment Code (SAC) 1 clinical incidents alongside a primarily clinical panel. Their input will help ensure investigations consider the patient and family experience and lead to meaningful, system-level improvements.

 

Commitment and Support

  • Training: Full-day Clinical Incident Management training on 13 February 2026
  • Panel Reviews: Approximately 2–3 hours per meeting, monthly, with pre-reading (attendance may be online or in person)
  • Quarterly Debrief Sessions: One hour every three months
  • Remuneration: $37.50 per hour (minimum two hours per session)
  • Wellbeing Support: Debriefing and psychological support available

 

Representatives will:

  • Strengthen the focus on patient experience in clinical reviews
  • Challenge assumptions and identify gaps in care
  • Contribute to safer, more person-centred healthcare
Location of Meetings

FTF Venue TBC OR Online via MS TEAMS

Frequency

2-3 hours monthly & quarterly de-brief sessions (1hr each session)

Time and Duration of Meetings

Time TBC (2-3hr meetings)
