Carers Week
Carers Week is a national awareness raising week held annually in the third week of October.
Carers Australia and Carers Associations invite all Australians to be part of Carers Week. Carers Week is Australia’s annual celebration of carers and is held annually in the third week of October. Carers Week aims to raise awareness of carers, the caring role and relationships, and carer supports and services.
Many great events will be conducted across the nation during Carers Week, including morning teas, launches, exhibitions, seminars and media talkback.
Carers Week 2013 runs from Sunday 13 October to Saturday 19 October 2013.
Carers Week Activity Grants
Carers WA offers grants for care-related organisations and carer support groups to host their own event for carers during Carers Week. Those we support must either be a not-for-profit organisation or local government authority to be eligible. Government departments and individuals are not eligible for grants. Regional, rural and remote organisations are encouraged to apply. If you would like to host an event for carers during Carers Week, you can apply for a $500 or $1,000 grant to help you hold your event. The event must be held during Carers Week and be attended by family carers only.
A Carers Week Resource Kit has been designed for individuals, community groups and organisations wishing to hold their own Carers Week events/activities or support other carer events. This step by step guide provides tips and ideas to make your event a great success.
Please note: These grants will only be available if Carers WA are successful in obtaining funding. If funding is secured, applications for 2013 will open in mid July 2013.

Carers Week Events
To celebrate Carers Week, Carers WA hosts a variety of events.
Events for 2013 are yet to be confirmed.
If you are a service provider who is interested in having a stall at our Carers Week Expo, please email an expression of interest with your organisation details to clare.cullen@carerswa.asn.au.
