Carers WA is the peak body for unpaid family and friend carers in Western Australia. We work alongside carers to strengthen recognition, support wellbeing and improve quality of life.
As a non-profit, community-based organisation and registered charity, Carers WA supports the estimated 320,000 unpaid family and friend carers living across Western Australia. As part of the National Network of Carers Associations, we are recognised by State and Federal governments as the voice of carers in Western Australia.
We partner with carers, people with care and support needs, health professionals, service providers, government and the wider community to create a more inclusive, responsive and supportive community for carers.
Every carer is recognised, valued and supported.
Carers WA drives carer recognition and wellbeing through advocacy, partnerships and innovative practice.
Compassionate: We see the whole person and take the time to respond with understanding and respect to what matters most to them.
Inclusive: We welcome the diversity of all carers. They remain fundamental to all we do, think and say. We show up with courage to support diverse carer needs.
Innovative: We strive for best practice and better carer outcomes, continually improving what and how we do things.
Carers WA has qualified for the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission’s Registered Charity Tick, enabling the public to easily identify our organisation as a registered charity and confirming that we are both transparent and accountable.
