Event Details

Join Erin for an informative, supportive and engaging conversation about Advanced Health Directives (AHDs). Before completing an AHD, it is essential to understand what advance healthcare planning really involves and how to make choices that truly reflect you.

This session will guide you through the purpose and process of advance care planning, helping you understand how an AHD allows you to clearly document your wishes if you are ever unable to communicate or make decisions for yourself. These are your choices, based on your values, beliefs and goals for health and personal care.

Creating an AHD is one of the most effective ways to ease the burden on loved ones during difficult times, while ensuring your preferences for care and treatment are understood and respected.

This relaxed and informative session will focus on your AHD, with space for questions, discussion and time to absorb the information, so you can feel confident and empowered moving forward.

About Erin Griffin

Erin Griffin talks about death and dying as if it is the most natural thing in the world because it is. She knows, deep in her bones, that we can do death differently: before, during, and after.

As an End of Life Guide (Death Doula), Erin is passionate about helping people engage with conversations and planning around death while they are alive and well. She specialises in community education, person‑centred end‑of‑life planning, grief guidance, and yoga for grief, bringing compassion, curiosity, and humanity to work that is often avoided or delayed.

Erin walks alongside individuals and families as they navigate end‑of‑life experiences, offering tender care, skilled advocacy, and deep listening. Her approach gently bridges the gap between clinical systems and community‑based care, ensuring people feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout the journey.

Please note: Erin will be speaking openly about death and dying. If you’re not feeling resourced at this time, that’s completely okay this session may not be right for you right now, and there will be other opportunities. This session is offered for general information only.
