Richmind WA is pleased to welcome internationally renowned eating disorder expert Dr Walter Kaye to Perth for a free session specifically for carers of people experiencing an eating disorder.

What Does Good Look Like? A Carers Conversation with Dr Walter Kaye

This interactive session will bring carers together with Dr Kaye to explore an important question: what does good eating disorder care and support look like? Through facilitated roundtable conversations, carers will have the opportunity to share their perspectives on what works, what is missing, what could be better, and what good support should look like for both the person experiencing an eating disorder and the people caring for them. Dr Kaye will bring his international research and clinical experience to the conversation, sharing insights into approaches to treatment, recovery and the role of carers, while hearing directly from carers about their experiences and priorities.

Dr Walter Kaye is internationally recognised for his decades of research and clinical work in eating disorders. He founded the UC San Diego Eating Disorders Center for Treatment and Research and has played a leading role in advancing understanding of the biological and psychological factors involved in eating disorders. His work has also contributed to the development of Temperament Based Treatment with Supports (TBT-S), which recognises the important role carers can play in treatment and recovery.
