Carers Australia and the network of Carers Associations invite all Australians to be part of Carers Week. Carers Week is Australia’s celebration of carers and is held annually in the third week of October.
National Carers Week 2025 will take place from Sunday, 12th to Saturday, 18th October 2025.
The theme for Carers Week in WA is: ‘You are one, know one, or will be one.’ There are more than 3 million Australians who take on extra caring responsibilities for a family member or friend with disability, physical or mental health challenges. This means that you are likely either a carer, know a carer or at some point in your life will become a carer.
This National Carers Week, we are encouraging everyone to look around and see the profound impact that carers have. They are the foundation of our aged care, disability, palliative and community care sectors. So, whether you are in a caring role now, know a carer or work with carers, let’s recognise the amazing work that carers do.
Subscribe to our e-newsletter for updates on Carers Week 2025 events.
National Carers Week recognises, celebrates and raises awareness of the 3 million Australians providing unpaid care and support to their family members or friends. The week shines a light on Australian carers’ resilience and sacrifice, and the profound impact they have on our communities.
At some point in every Australian’s life, we will either know, be, or need a carer. It’s this fundamental truth that underscores the importance of National Carers Week, urging us to show support, extend a helping hand or simply be there for those who tirelessly give of themselves, day in and day out.

This National Carers Week you can nominate a carer you know to receive a small gift in the mail in appreciation and in recognition of the amazing work they do. Carers are also welcome to nominate themselves.
The gift will be delivered to them directly and includes a card with four limited edition lapel pins.
Limited to one gift per carer. Information and addresses will be kept confidential in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Nominations close on Monday, 6th October, at 4.00pm
