National Carers Week

Carers Australia and the network of Carers Associations invite all Australians to be part of Carers Week. Carers Week is Australia’s celebration of carers and is held annually in the third week of October.

National Carers Week 2024 will take place from Sunday, 13th to Saturday, 19th October 2024.

About National Carers Week

National Carers Week recognises, celebrates and raises awareness of the 3 million Australians providing unpaid care and support to their family members or friends. The week shines a light on Australian carers’ resilience and sacrifice, and the profound impact they have on our communities.

At some point in every Australian’s life, we will either know, be, or need a carer. It’s this fundamental truth that underscores the importance of National Carers Week, urging us to show support, extend a helping hand or simply be there for those who tirelessly give of themselves, day in and day out.

Feedback from Carers Week 2023

You have no idea how I felt during and especially after the event. I haven’t been to the movies for years. I haven’t had a good laugh for a while and I haven’t felt SO relaxed after an event.

Carer, Attended 2023 Carers Week Event

The 2 coffee vouchers to be used at once was a brilliant initiative. I was able to have some much needed respite with another carer. Which otherwise I would of picked up a coffee on the run.

Carer, Attended 2023 Carers Week Event

I enjoyed the company of other carers plus the feeling of being spoiled and appreciated.

Carer, Attended 2023 Carers Week Event

The highlight for me was being surrounded by other carers made me feel less alone in my caring role.
