Description
Carer Representative’s experience required:
- Demonstrated ability to provide an understanding of the principles of consumer or carer perspectives at a system advocacy level.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain networks with state and/or NMHS-based consumer or carer groups, community organisations or government bodies.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate with stakeholders with different perspectives.
- An understanding of the diversity of the NMHS community, and the needs of different population groups.
Carers who wish to apply for this position will need to provide the following:
- A written statement providing examples of their experience that demonstrates their skills and experience for the 4 criteria outlined above.
- A letter of support from a relevant consumer or carer organisation.
- The contact details of a referee.
Location of Meetings
Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre or online (face to face preferred)
Frequency
4th Friday of each month for 3 hours. 12-month duration with potential to extend for a further two one-year terms at the discretion of the Board Chair
Time and Duration of Meetings
8:30am – 11:30am (3hr meetings)
