The AKG Consumer Advisory Committee ensures that consumer and carer perspectives are embedded in all aspects of healthcare planning and delivery across the Armadale Kalamunda Group. The Committee provides advice and direction to support safe, high-quality, person-centred care that reflects the needs, priorities, and lived experiences of our community.
Aims of the AKG Consumer Advisory Committee
- Strengthen consumer partnerships across AKG
- Provide insight and feedback to support the development of policies, programs, and service improvements
- Ensure AKG services are culturally responsive, equitable, and aligned with community needs
- Promote safety, quality, and person-centred care for all consumers
Carer Representative’s experience required:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Consumer or Carer Representatives with lived experience using healthcare services to join the Armadale Kalamunda Group (AKG) Consumer Advisory Committee.
Position Expectations
- Attend monthly meetings held on the fourth Monday of each month, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm, at Armadale Health Service
- Prepare for meetings by reading any materials provided in advance
- Contribute respectfully and constructively to discussions
- Share insights based on lived experience as a consumer or carer
- Participate in occasional additional activities such as reviewing documents, joining short-term working groups, or providing feedback on service improvements (optional and based on availability)
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold AKG values when participating in committee activities
