Fiona Stanley Hospital Emergency Department Consumer Advisory Group (EDCAG)
The Emergency Department Consumer Advisory Group (EDCAG) at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) has an established role in providing leadership and advice in the areas of performance measurement and evaluation, service planning and designing care in line with our commitment to the National Safety & Quality Care Standard 2 – Partnering with Consumers. Members are expected to be able to provide advice on issues relating to the provision of healthcare by the FSH Emergency Department as well as understand and represent the perspective of the consumers and carers from the community served by FSH ED.
There is currently a vacancy for a secondary Carer Representative to join the EDCAG and to share the role with the current primary Carer Representative sitting on this committee. The secondary Carer Representative will be expected to attend all meetings for the remainder of 2025 (approx 3 meetings) and take turns with the primary Carer Representative to attend meetings for 2026 (approx. 5 meetings each). The Carer Representative should have:
Invitation to interview will be based on written Expression of Interest addressing the above criteria. Successful candidates will be offered a position subject to: completion of 100 point identification check; successful criminal record and Working with Children clearance; health screening for vaccinations & communicable diseases; successful pre-appointment health assessment; signing of confidentiality agreement; and declaration of any conflict of interest.
Time and Duration of Meetings
Secondary Carer Rep will be asked to attend all meetings for the remainder of 2025 (approx 3 meetings) and take turns with Primary Carer Rep in attending meetings for 2026 onwards (approx. 5 meetings/year).
Weekdays 16.00 -18.00 (Usually, a Tuesday but can change to suit member availability)
Up to 4 hours each month – made up of regular EDCAG meetings (2 hours every six to eight weeks) + attendance as observer at one staff meeting (2hours monthly).
Plus, occasional out-of-session email discussions and other project-related activities as required
