Description
The purpose of the Committee is to:
- Oversee critical reviews of systems, processes, evaluations and outcomes of patient care
- To ensure the organisation meets the components of the NPH operational plan, monitoring and performance schedules, and provide clinical governance for delegated elements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Clinical Governance Standard,
- 1.28 – Variation in clinical practice in the context of Hospital Acquired Complications (Fact Sheet for action 1.28)
- Ensure systems are in place to document pre-existing co morbidities and to support coding of hospital acquired complications (HACs).
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, standards and regulations, including:
- EMHS Morbidity and Mortality Standard
- RPBG Morbidity and Mortality Reviews Standard Operational Procedure
- Other National Standards as appropriate
- Implementing relevant components of the RPBG Clinical Governance and Consumer Partnership Frameworks, directly, or in partnership with other committees
Carer experience required:
We require a Carer with lived experience of care through Royal Perth Hospital or Bentley Health Service who is passionate about the importance of consumers and carers partnering with staff within a hospital network. The successful applicant must have a strong understanding of patient centred care and the challenges faced by carers navigating their way through a hospital stay, particularly with patients whose outcomes did not work out as planned.
Location of Meetings
Royal Perth Hospital Executive Boardroom
Frequency
1 meeting every second Tuesday of the month. Representatives will be appointed for a period of two years.
Time and Duration of Meetings
2nd Tuesday of every second month between 11am and 1pm (2hrs)
