Description

The SCGH Mental Health Unit (MHU) Business Meeting provides a multidisciplinary forum to discuss and coordinate operational matters that support effective service delivery and quality patient care.

The meeting aims to:

• Encourage collaboration across disciplines to improve communication and teamwork.
• Address operational issues that impact daily service delivery, such as care planning, therapy programs, and use of shared spaces.
• Support the development and review of local MHU policies, procedures, and work practices.
• Identify opportunities for staff learning, performance development, and team building.
• Ensure effective use of available resources to enhance the patient and staff experience

 

Carer Representative’s experience required:

1. Lived experience as carer of person with Mental illness and interactions with SCGH based mental health service
2. Good communication skills
3. Good advocacy and representation skills – able to represent broader carer perspective not just personal experiences.
4. Maintains confidentiality

Location of Meetings

MHU Theatrette (21 Verdun St Nedlands) or online via MS Teams

Frequency

Monthly (please note meetings are sometimes cancelled at the last minute)

Time and Duration of Meetings

Tuesdays 11am – 12pm
