Carers in Employment Program
People in a caring role can find it difficult to enter or maintain paid work due to their caring role. The Carers in Employment Program will offer two services to assist carers to enter or re-enter employment and to assist employers to create ‘carer friendly’ workplaces.
Carers - Be job ready!
This program will work with carers to look at their caring role alongside providing education and skills to be ‘job ready’. To be eligible for this program, you need to be a carer or have been in a caring role in the last 12 months, aged between 14 and 65 and live in the Perth metropolitan area. This program works with employers, whether private, government or not-for-profit to ensure that your workplace is ‘carer friendly’. Workplaces that meet the carer-friendy standards can also be accredited.
An initial meeting with your senior management/HR staff will provide you with information on the benefits to your organisation in supporting carers in the workplace and how to develop and implement a carer action plan.
