Early Childhood and Early Intervention

You can contact your Local Coordination office if concerns about your child’s development have been identified.

Contact a Local Coordination Office

If your child is deemed eligible for the NDIS in WA and it has rolled out in your area you will be contacted by a Local Coordinator.

As every child is different, your Local Coordinator will tailor the plan to your child’s individual needs and circumstances. They may also help you connect with the most appropriate supports in your area, such as the community health centre, educational settings and playgroups.

Early intervention service providers will work with you toward supporting your child's participation in everyday activities.

Better Start

Where the NDIS in WA has not rolled out in your area, children aged between 0-6 years may be eligible to access therapy supports through Better Start funding packages. Please follow the link to the Better Start website for more information www.betterstart.net.au

Better Start Moving Forward workshops are currently being held across Australia, to provide parents and carers with important information on accessing a Better Start funding package. These workshops will also provide information and pre-planning advice on the NDIS in WA. To check when a Moving Forward workshop is being held in your area, please click on the following link to contact a Registration and Information Service (RIS) advisor in your region: Better Start State and Territory Registration

It is important for families to understand, that registering with Better Start, does not automatically mean their child is eligible for an NDIS in WA package. For more information, please call the NDIS in WA on 1800 996 214. Parents can also access the Am I Eligible? checker to check whether their child meets the NDIS in WA eligibility requirements.
