24nov10:00 am1:00 pmCompassion Fatigue Carer Workshop

Event Details

Carers WA presents a series of informative workshops for carers delving into some of the common challenges associated with caring for a family member, friend or loved one and exploring self-supporting behaviours and skills to help build longevity and resilience within the caring role.

This Compassion Fatigue workshop is externally facilitated by private practitioner, Louisa Holmes, a registered Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, and co-attended by the Carers WA Counselling team. Compassion fatigue is a natural part of the caring role which can often lead to burn-out. Maintaining a healthy sense of compassion for the self and other people and a position of empathy is hard and can take its toll.

The workshop will explore:

  • Empowering carers with skills that might prevent burnout;
  • Offering strategies to manage carer compassion fatigue; and
  • Helping to build resilience and longevity in their caring role and their own health and happiness.

Cost: Free to registered Carers WA carers. A complimentary light lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the workshop at 1.00 pm for all attendees.

To RSVP, visit the registration form.

Registrations are essential for all workshops.
