Filming Our Future: Our Choice, Our Voice, Our Way – A new partnership with Carers WA and Screenwest.

Screenwest is calling for applications for WA producers and production companies for an empowering initiative.

Carers WA are excited to once again be partnering with Screenwest in an empowering initiative, Filming our Future: ‘Our Choice, Our Voice, Our Way’, that aims at increasing inclusion and diversity in sport and recreation through creative industries in Western Australia.


Carers WA Business Development and Disability Services Manager, Paul Rogers said,

 “We look forward to supporting this new initiative and encouraging those who wish to be part of Filming Our Futures” to submit an application form”.


The initiative is looking for participants in three categories, these include:

  • Producer or production companies
  • Four paid, Inclusion Mentee opportunities for people living with a disability.
  • Call out for storytellers living with a disability.


After the successful partnership in 2020 for the Different Lens project, the new initiative will develop 15 short-form screen projects with storytellers and the successful producer or production company.

Producer/ Production 

Applications for the producer/production company are open now and will close 5.00 pm AWST on Monday, 12th April 2021.

Inclusion Mentee Opportunities

Applications for the four mentee positions are open now and will close 5.00pm AWST on Monday, 19th 2021.
