Paw Pals for Carers K9 Program

Carers WA would like to introduce an exciting new initiative: the Paw Pals for Carers K9 Program. This novel pilot program is designed to provide a rewarding experience for carers.

One of the unique aspects of this program is the incorporation of interaction with dogs, as well as an opportunity to connect with other carers, share experiences, and learn from each other in a supportive environment.

Numerous studies have highlighted the benefits of human-dog interaction. These include improved mental wellbeing, reduced stress levels, and enhanced social skills.

Location: Shenton Park Dog Refuge
When: Wednesdays, fortnightly | 10.30am to 11.30am
Optional catch-up afterwards with complimentary coffee
Starting: Wednesday, 22nd May
Duration: 10-12 sessions

Your participation and insights will be vital to the program’s success and its potential future roll-out. Therefore your attendance to all sessions and feedback is highly encouraged.

The availability of places is limited and each applicant will be pre-screened via a short phone call to determine their suitability. All participants must be 18+ years old.

If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to contact canine@carerswa.asn.au

We are truly excited about the Paw Pals for Carers K9 Program and hope that you will be part of this new initiative.
