Carers WA 2018 Conference
Carers WA looks forward to welcoming you to the Carers WA 2018 Conference, to be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 16th October 2018. The conference will be WA’s premier event to celebrate National Carers Week 2018.
The Carers WA 2018 Conference will be a ‘must attend’ event for unpaid family carers, community service providers, government agencies and people with care needs.
The conference will identify and discuss both the challenging and the rewarding aspects of the caring role. It will also showcase innovative supports and services for carers.
The conference will be based around two core themes:
“Disability and Ageing in the New World”
This stream will explore trends in health, mental health, disability and ageing and the impacts on carers and consumers. This may include topics such as the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), transitions in aged care funding, workforce capacity, and consumer directed care/funding.
“Innovations in Carer Support”
This stream will highlight new and future innovations that allow carers to have the same life choices and opportunities as other members of the community. This may include topics such as employment, education, technology, respite, wellbeing, carer recognition, legislation and policy.
Registrations will open in July 2018. Early registrations will not be accepted.
Registration for carers is free. Carers must be a member of Carers WA to receive free registration. One registration per carer only.
