The Community Capacity Development team is working with members of the WA community with diverse abilities.
Community members have been demonstrating ways in which they can, and do, contribute to their community and wider society. The outcome is a collection of short story books written by ability diverse young people.
The books dive into the challenges young people may face with disabilities and provide an inspiring perspective for young people to stay strong and never give up on their dreams.

“My Family My Life” by Ewan Fowles
An intimate glimpse into the private family life of author, Ewan Fowles. This book looks at the realities and importance of ‘family. Including issues that we can all relate to and are prevalent in today’s “family dynamics”.

Talking Space – A collection of short stories
The final book in this collection, “Talking Space” explores the everyday experiences of people with disability. A collection of stories and experience from a vast range of individuals throughout Western Australia who have overcome boundaries and comment on the view of disability in today’s society.
