#ShareYouCare Sticker Project: Get to know winning artist, Megan Baker

The #ShareYouCare Sticker Project will see 20,000 stickers – designed by a series of established and emerging designers, and artists – distributed across over 100 community locations WA wide, specifically for young people in our community. Megan Baker joined the project because they are no stranger to how important family carers are, as a person with care needs.

Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m an artist, my favourite colour is purple and I love the sound of rain.

How would you describe your signature style?

With illustration, I love flat colours and heavy outlines!

What is all your all-time favourite artwork?

This is such a tough question I can’t pick!!

What are some of the projects you have worked on recently?

I just finished a video work for Yagan Square about parks and am beginning a textile work about self-care.

What enticed you to get involved with the #ShareYouCare project?

My 3 siblings are young carers for me and I feel its something that needs to be acknowledged and celebrated more! I think these stickers will help with

awareness and starting important conversations around the importance of carers and how much they matter.

What was the inspiration behind your #ShareYouCare sticker design?

For my design I wanted it to be an obvious mouth proclaiming a statement loudly and bold colours to draw attention. To embody the message behind the hashtag.

Where can we see more of your work?

On Instagram @beingbaker or Facebook @meganbakerart

You can get @beingbaker’s sticker at a location near you.
