The purpose of the SMHS Child Safeguarding Working Group (CSWG) is to support SMHS in progressing the implementation of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
The SMHS CSWG will serve as an advisory group to provide guidance on matters related to child safeguarding, such as providing operational insights, reviewing documents, assisting in coordinated actions, and developing recommendations for the SMHS Executive.
This group helps SMHS make sure that children and young people are safe when using our services. As a carer representative, you will help ensure that the voices and experiences of consumers and families are considered when decisions are made.
The working group includes staff from different SMHS hospitals, services and teams. Together, the group provides advice and guidance about child safeguarding, reviews documents, supports coordinated actions and makes recommendations to the SMHS Executive.
