The Lifelong Learning College

The Lifelong Learning College (LLC) is a program offered by Carers WA, that has been designed to build capacity for people with disability and their unpaid family carer/s. The program has been created to encourage education, learn valuable life skills and build informal networks in an inclusive community-based setting.

LLC includes Community Wise, a 10-week skill building program which supports people with disability to gain skills of independence, build social skills and make friends.

Some terms of LLC are run in conjunction with the In-Person Peer Support (IPPS) program which provides an opportunity for carers to share their experience of being an unpaid carer, learn from others and develop a supportive network. In-person support groups can provide a sense of empowerment, understanding and reduce feelings of social isolation.
